Handle is tight and original. Paracord overwrap shows great wear and is likely a tie-down cord from the package in which this sword was originally dropped. Swords like this, made from surplus "Patton sword" blades from WWI, were dropped by parachute as part of packages of War materiel for use by local guerillas resisting the Japanese in WWII.
