Imperial Japanese Type 32'Otsu' NCO/Transport officers sword dated Tiasho 2, circa 1912. I've owned more than a few of these and this is one of the best I've come across. The numbers on the blade and scabbard are matching. Blade is in original, untouched, mint condition. The edge was never sharpened and retains the original "kissaki" at the tip. There is only one tiny nic in the edge which can be seen in the 5th photo. There is zero rust on the blade and it is untouched by me except for a coat of Choji oil. The wood grip has a beautiful grain pattern and only has one small scrape, see photos for close up. The scabbard shows wear but has no dents. It appears to be have been coated in clear lacquer or something similar over a bright finish. The clear coating has yellowed with aging giving it an interesting bronzy brass patina. I have more photos and would be happy to share them if requested. 12 photos just isn't enough for a sword like this.
