Excellent condition with dark stained or painted wood fan shaped drawer handles with the same motiff carved and painted into the wood at the very bottom. Nice original painted floral/plant artwork on the front of the chest. Colors still nice with no wear or chipping of paint.

Not damaged or reworked, original condition as brought back by the returning internee. Dimentions: 11 1/4" high x 9 3/4" width x 9 deep.

Written on the back of one of the top drawers is the internees name and address'James Roo'?? Takamura 233 1/2 East First St. Address located on first street between Los Angeles and San Pedro in LIttle Tokyo. Rare to encounter a camp made chest such as this decorated with artwork and Japanese features. This item will be packed in a heavy duty reinforced box.
