Offered is a rare 1960's era US Air Force Academy Cadet Officer's sword. The sword features burnished plated nickel overall, with round globe pommel, ribbed rope grip and winged cross guard.
The front langet is adorned with the United States Air Force crest, being blank to rear. The 76cm long, double edge blade features on one side the acid etched, some 20cm in length'U. Air Force Academy' in a rectangular frame, with wings to either side.The blade is immaculate, with the reverse rcicasso showing Zubco Germany Stainless. The scabbard is also in excellent condition with all frosted finish to upper chape, 50% frosting to lower and all chrome finish to body.
Retains the frog clip and displays only minor service wear and patina. These are rarely seen for sale, with most being retained by the academy, this being the only example I've seen for sale before.
