MAKERS : From Bausch and Lomb, The Maker of the legendary Ray Ban USA Sunglass. OWN A PIECE OF WWII HISTORY : This is definitely a rare set of iconic and historical pair of sunglasses from World War II and the history from Bausch and Lomb Optical Company who had invented the newest high-tech, scientific aviator sunglasses called Ray Ban that could protect our US Aviators eyes from the sun harmful UV rays.

People understand how important these B-L sunglasses was in helping the United States in winning the war during World War II. During the war aviator flew between 10 to 15 hours at a time, sometime more with the sun continuously glaring in their eyes. Thanks to Bausch and Lomb for these high-tech UV protection sunglasses they invented in 1936 our US Aviator Pilots now had something to protect their eyes from the harmful sun UV rays. They were now able to see better than ever during the day light hours in their unrelenting search for menacing enemies' submarines and attacking airplanes thus helping them to fight and defeat the enemies in the skies and waters. As the war continued, Bausch and Lomb did not have enough Ray Ban sunglasses to sell to the public and to the US Armed Forces at the same time because they did not have enough to support both, so they had to solely concentrate in manufacturing enough sunglasses just to fill a tall order in order to support the War Department needed in the efforts of winning the war.

Ray-Ban and American Optical entire manufactured eyewear solely had to go in supporting the US USAAF/USN Armed Forces. The public wanted these Ray Ban sunglasses really bad because it was the only pair of sunglasses at that time that could provide them with the protection from the sun harmful UV rays. CONDITION : This is in phenomenal condition for its age, and it is not perfect but still in awesome condition with minimal signs of wear.

ERA : WWII - PRE-RAY BAN, 1936/40s Vintage Sunglasses. LENSES : In 1936 Bausch and Lomb invented and developed the RB-3 lenses that was at that time the most advance scientific technology for UV protection sunglasses. This has 58mm in size made with Mineral Glass RB-3. Lenses are also in phenomenal condition for its age with minimal signs of wear.

FEATURES : First pilot/aviator by B&L aviator model ever produced and it is very rare to have both the original B-L sunglasses and aluminum military issued sunglass together as a set. 100% all original, made with nickel. Plated metal and it comes with its original Military issued sunglass aluminum case.
