ARTIFACT: This is a rare Canadian-made patch for the United States Army Air Forces 70th Ferrying Squadron in the North Atlantic. The patch is cloud-shaped, showing a winged star insignia with the profile of an aircraft in the background, and reads NORTH ATLANTIC SQUADRON USA 70TH. VINTAGE: Circa World War II. SIZE: 4-3/16" height and 6" width. CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Black felt patch embroidered in multi-colored cotton/silk threads with cotton backing. MARKINGS: CREST CRAFT SASKATOON, SK. Maker's stamp on reverse.
