Rare Randall Springfield WWII Fighting Knife Prominent Previous Owner. Extremely rare and highly collectible World War II number one fighting knife made in Springfield Massachusetts. Produced in response to the great demand of Randall knives in World War II.12 11/16 inches blade tip to the hex pommel nut. The blade is 7 7/8 inches long and has the logo Randall made SPFLD Mass flanked with scimitars on it. The handle is stacked leather also has the original lanyard with brown leather sheath. The original honing stone is missing but very much available. One side of the handle has the Navy Hero lieutenants name David Gibbs Gamble stamped on it. You SNR160851 is stamped above the name. The lieutenant was involved in several World War II naval missions including Including skippering of mine sweep in Kwajalein in the Pacific. The lieutenant also is the great grandson of Procter and Gamble Co-founder James Gamble and has many descendants.
