Rare Original WW2 39th Infantry Regiment Painted Officers Helmet

Offered is a rare and complete original World War Two United States Army painted front seam, swivel bale M1 helmet. This original helmet was painted for a Captain in the 39th Infantry Regiment.

I will spare you an extensive history lesson (Im not that great a teacher anyway) and commend you to google the 39th. This storied regiment fought as part of the 9th Infantry Division and was the first unit of combat troops to set foot on foreign soil when it landed on the beaches of Algiers in November, 1942.

It fought virtually all across Europe and was given its motto of Anything, Anywhere, AnytimeBar Nothing (AAAO). Hence, the AAA-O helmet painting. This helmet is named but in all my years of owning this helmet, Ive never been able to make out more than the first name George.
