WWII McCord M1 Front Seam Helmet Heat Stamp 1036B with Westinghouse Liner RARE

WWII McCord M1 Front Seam Helmet Heat Stamp 1036B w/ Westinghouse Liner Very Rare! Available is a rare piece of US WW2 military wartime history. Paint job depicting the single bar Lieutenant insignia on the front and reading LATRINE LT. The helmets heat stamp is crisp and clear and reads 1036B.

The original fixed bales appear to have been replaced with swivel bales. Due to a well-known design flaw, these were commonly replaced in theater. Visible are centering dimples at each bale, a manufacturing mark indicating that this helmet originally possessed fixed bales.

Another indication of early vintage is this helmet's rim comprised of stainless steel. Because this stainless steel rim did not retain paint and became shiny, it was quickly changed in later production helmets. Also included is the original Westinghouse helmet liner with clear makers stamps that read W D7.

The helmet straps and liner webbing show signs of wear, but appear original and nearly complete. The liners leather sweatband has some writing on it, appears to be from a blue ballpoint pen. Please inspect the photos carefully for item condition. Its truly remarkable and rare to find a WWII helmet that is so complete, in this kind of condition, and customized by the soldier who wore it proudly.

Please examine pictures to determine condition. The helmet exhibits signs of wear consistent w/ age and usage--missing paint around rim, extremely light surface rust in spots, and minor paint chipping. Please feel free to request additional photos if necessary. What you see is EXACTLY what you get, nothing more or less.
