Robert Ley, one of the infamous Nuremberg 24. Those are his initials on the base of the anvil. After elements of the 3rd Army, including the 44th, relieved members of the 101st Airborne at Bastogne, the 44th and 101st maeuvered closely together for the remainder of the war. This places this soldier in the area when the 101st captured Ley. More reseach is available upon request to verify authenticity. Soldier's surviving son will provide a certificate of authenticity, signed and notarized, suitable for framing with a picture of the soldier while near the Belgian/German border, attesting to the statements made by his father. Heavily researched documentation will be provided in support of the soldier's claims.
